We've agreed amongst the people on irc://freenode.net#gnash that we
should be doing releases more often. Instead of six months, we should
target a release every three months. Given the relase date of 0.8.2,
February 21, that means that 0.8.3 is targetted for May 21. We're
nearly half-way there.
Right at this moment, rsavoye is furiously hacking to add RTMP support
to Cygnal via a new library, libnet, which will also be used to add
RTMP support to Gnash. So, right now is not a good time to suggest
that people download snapshots and try them. But we will be doing
that, and generating pre-release packages.
