It would be appropriate to stop rendering video and graphics when gnash's
window is totally obscured -- but we shouldn't stop other I/O such as
network I/O.

The real problem is that gnash's interpreter is doing something
expensive when it should be doing nothing (when nothing needs doing).
We haven't run down that bug yet, but once we do, multiple tabs of
gnashes won't burn up your CPU (though they'll still take a lot of
RAM).
