This is a Debian packaging issue; libXcursor.la was removed from
libxcursor-dev a while ago (see bug #354674), and not all of the other
development packages have been recompiled.

In this case, it's gtkglext (see bug #366282, filed yesterday):

I rebuilt and installed libgtkglext1-dev, and gnash then compiled.
