I've just had this exact error [1] too, but I hope its pebkac.

check the path to your Release files, eg:

^^^ Here is where apache is getting blocked on my system.

address@hidden:~# chmod 755 /srv/mirrors/

^^^ chmod +x on the directory will allow apache to traverse it, but
I've opened mine up a little more then that.

address@hidden:~# ls -lhd /srv/mirrors/ drwxr-xr-x 7 kgoetz kgoetz 4.0K
2009-04-17 19:39 /srv/mirrors/
