I'm surprised you even got to install Nework Manager. Due to dependecy
issues, I never succeded in installing it in my Yeelong running gNewSense
(kernel 2.6.32.9). I just got rid of any trace of NM and installed Wicd.
Works like a charm, it even recognizes USB wireless modems at once. It
connects to signals as low as 40%.
