You probably need a newer kernel and the free firmware that the driver
uses. See e.g. [0] for how to install it, the same should work in
gNewSense (kernel and pre-compiled firmware). Then use the usual
wireless configuration methods like /etc/network/interfaces or
NetworkManager.
