Trouble in reading sms from mobile

While using this command

gnokii --getsms ME 1 end

we got an error "Getting sms failed (locaiton 1 from ME memory)! (unknown error -well better than nothing)

Mobile model: nokia N72 and nokia 6300

os:fedora 12
