(1) There's nothing to discuss if the goal is to change
the settings for the list. While I, like bob, prefer
munging, there's solid arguments against it, and the
recommended practice by our host, Savannah, is to not
munge. Period.
(2) Drop it, please. If you have something surprisingly
persuasive to say, send it to me privately. If
traffic on this topic persists through wednesday, I have
already promised to start killing subject lines.
(3) I really hope to not have to impose filters on the list. That's
dumb and ugly and boring. I'd like to believe that as a
community, we're above the need for such things. I.e., if on
thursday, there's a post that has verboten words in the subject,
I'd hope it'd be hella funny, or hella successful at changing the
topic. Eclecticism (?) is quite welcome on gnu-arch-users; "[OT]"
in the subject line is a polite way to do it; tedium on dead
topics just forces my hand in a boring way.
