That doesn't answer my question; are there `arch managed' projects, other
than those from Tom, that distribute the {arch} directory as part of their
official distributions?

[When I first saw one of Tom's .tar.gz dists, I thought it was a _mistake_
that he included {arch} -- I think that it even had several pristine trees
packaged in with it!]

I've always considered it as being like CVS dirs, as something you'd strip
out when making a distribution.
