Doesn't bk2patch preserve all the metadata?
<ftp://nl.linux.org/pub/linux/bk2patch/> contains the output of
bk2patch for Linux kernels, updated regularly, available by rsync as
well as ftp/http.  Each file seems to be a changeset.
