"pl" is probably out, because of the perl conflict. Is "p" used by pascal
though (not sure which is more popular, but neither is very, I think)?
[My list was originally that used to generate the tagline in emacs, and so
while somewhat large, is rather biased towards certain languages, and
certainly not exhaustive.
As I mentioned in a later post it's easy to add user entries to this list in
a particular arch branch, so it's not critical to get the default list right,
just convenient.]
