Actually, that checksum file _verifies_ that my gawk script works
correctly.

The checksum file that fails the gawk script says:

    -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
    Hash: SHA1

    Signature-for: address@hidden/tla--devo--1.2--base-0
    md5 log ac78eb302a05841f1f0be7fa5d84bf08
    md5 tla--devo--1.2--base-0.patches.tar.gz fa2d8bb651c0eb6e525773bb71730484
    md5 CONTINUATION 19bc028345913bc5d5c0a54f6c54c508
    -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE-----
    Version: GnuPG v1.2.2 (FreeBSD)

    iD8DBQE/76rLYiL4ten68SkRAuI5AKCqheFB2nOIfNwwHnZYyoAXjDoirQCgmU0L
    Q2hI8sxRPeGHd/JSPOcyOjE=
    =TD1g
    -----END PGP SIGNATURE-----

[extra stuff to verify copying of signatures]

That last line, the one that says "[extra stuff ..." is text that I
inserted (weeks ago) _by_hand_, in order to make it easier to tell
that archive-mirror was copying checksum files when it should.

It's _exactly_ the sort of line that the gawk script _should_ detect
as "corrupted checksum file".

So, really, the problem isn't that the gawk script is broken (in this
example at least) --- the problem is that I need to remove that line
and rebuild by mirrors (which I'll do tomorrow).
