My attempts to install tla on my FreeBSD machine (FreeBSD 4.9-STABLE
i386) fail, because GNU patch is not recognized, or so it seems. The
port (devel/tla) shows the same behaviour:

address@hidden:~ports/devel/tla% sudo make install clean
===>  Vulnerability check disabled
>> tla-1.2.tar.gz doesn't seem to exist in /usr/ports/distfiles/.
>> Attempting to fetch from
tla-1.2.tar.gz                                100% of 4318 kB   88
kBps 00m00s
===>  Extracting for tla-1.2
>> Checksum OK for tla-1.2.tar.gz.
===>  Patching for tla-1.2
===> tla-1.2 depends on executable: gpatch - found
===> tla-1.2 depends on executable: gdiff - found
===> tla-1.2 depends on executable: gmake - found
===>  Configuring for tla-1.2
/bin/mkdir -p /usr/local/ports/devel/tla/work/tla-1.2/src/=build
cd /usr/local/ports/devel/tla/work/tla-1.2/src/=build ; ../configure
--prefix /usr/local  --with-gnu-patch gpatch  --with-gnu-diff gdiff
--with-gnu-diff3 gdiff3

The configured version of patch does not handle the --posix switch

  configured patch = gpatch.

Use config options
  --with-gnu-patch PROG

  NOTE: You will want to grab a recent version of the GNU patch
   distribution. On BSD systems, you can just install the
   devel/patch port or package.

*** Error code 1

Stop in /usr/local/ports/devel/tla.

Any pointers?
