Well, call me stupid, but I went on a road trip without net access of
any kind . . . and, naturally enough, forgot to either update my local
mirror and/or tag to a local archive.

Of course, I work on my stuff regularly, so I had everything I needed
library-cached. By checking out from the library, hand-adding
appropriate logs, producing a changeset, tarballing it, making a
CONTINUATION file, and creating and signing a checksums file, I was
able to create a base-0 revision in a local library and go from there.

Note that I couldn't get tag to work even if I specified a source
revision explicitly (and said revision was in the library). If all I
specified was a version, it naturally has to connect to find the
latest revision -- but I didn't even ask that of it.

Obviously, once I do it once, I'm fine because I can just star-merge
from the library. Still, you never know when it might happen.

Are there any gotchas to allowing 'tag' to work disconnectedly if all
appropriate data is library-cached? Alternatively, does anyone have a
script to automate all the stuff I did by hand?
