What about Israel? You're writing from a .ru domain, and you're

Upon reading this i bursted into laughter.

Israel. Democracy. US giving them money so that they can support that
democracy.

Well, I intended that to be provocative, but really, in what other nations in the Middle East are the populace allowed to vote? You can argue that the Palestinians aren't allowed to vote, but that's a function of the Palestinian Authority, not Israel. Both the US and Israel have suggested that it would be a good thing if they had regular elections...

Being a democracy doesn't mean you can go around killing people who piss you off. In fact, it makes you really effective at doing so.

That is: democracy != nice. Democracy is just one of the most effective ways to run a government. Mostly, IMHO, because it gives the populace to loudly tell the government when they're doing something stupid.

And they support that democracy by systematically destroying arab houses.

They support that democracy by destroying _Palestinian_ houses.
There are arabs who live elsewhere in Israel who can vote in their elections, and who don't get their houses destroyed. In fact, prior to US involvement in Iraq, the only place arabs COULD vote was Israel. Now they can vote in _two_ countries. WhooHoo! Progress... :-)

I'm not going to argue that the Israeli's are saints, I'm just pointing out that for a long time, they were the only democracy in the region, and that counts for a lot was the US. The Palestinian Authority hasn't exactly been a model government except perhaps as a model kleptocracy. I think the US has even offered the PA aid, all they have to do is keep their books public so we can audit how badly we're getting robbed...

They even coined a term -- Low Intensity Conflict.

I`ve seen it on a broschure some folks i work with brought from Israel.

It had some vague words about changes of the type of wars which
are going on around the globe nowadays and how it is related to the
unipolar world and the need for the governments worldwide to be
prepared for challenges posed by those LIC`s.

When i saw it i thought: "what crazy stuff"...

Well, its hard for me to refute that without seeing the brochure, after all the brochure might be put out by some nutjob in Israel. You can get brochures from the Nazi's in America. Even Communists! (like either of those philosophies haven't be throughly discredit yet)
