The problem is that executables do not delta-compress well with stuff
like xdelta. I do have an implementation of an xdelta-like algorithm,
but optimised for binary diffing of executables that I implemented at while ago. If anyone is interested in playing with it let
me know, and I'll put it up for (GPLed) download.

For a build system which records the result of every build it would
probably be a good fit. For software patch distribution it might be
interesting as well.
