hello Casey,
in the old days, i used to do the following for building a
non-gcj-friendly distro:
address@hidden gnu-crypto]$ cd ../../build-no-gcj
address@hidden build-no-gcj]$ rm -rf *
address@hidden build-no-gcj]$ ../../workspace/cvs/gnu-crypto/init.sh
address@hidden build-no-gcj]$ ./configure --with-jikes
address@hidden build-no-gcj]$ make
how can i have the same with the new mechanism? doing
address@hidden build-no-gcj]$ ./configure JAVAC=jikes
gives
checking for a BSD-compatible install... /usr/bin/install -c
checking whether build environment is sane... yes
checking for gawk... gawk
checking whether make sets $(MAKE)... yes
checking whether to enable maintainer-specific portions of Makefiles...
no
You have no CLASSPATH, I hope it is good
checking if jikes works... configure: error: The Java compiler jikes
failed (see config.log, check the CLASSPATH?)
and the config.log file says:
...
configure:1823: checking if jikes works
configure:1837: jikes Test.java
Found 1 system error:
*** Semantic Error: You need to modify your classpath, sourcepath,
bootclasspath, and/or extdirs setup. Package "java/lang" could not be
found in:
.
cheers;
