You should count his commits in Emacs (still ongoing) and Gcc (he
designed, wrote and maintained it for a long time, and many of his
extensions and concepts are still alive).

That's not _quite_ the track of a charlatan...

Huh?  Neither of these are public domain.  Seems like you don't get
