xdvi (and dvips) can't find the lilyponds

Hi.

I'm trying to get lilypond working, and I'm pretty much stuck. When I
first installed lilypond yesterday, everything seemed to be working
fine, but after loging out then in again, it can no longer find the
fonts. I still have copies of fonts from yesterday around as pk
files, so if I run xdvi in the same directory it works fine, but if
not, I get junk output.

I'm running on lilypond-1.4.6 on redhat7.1. I compiled from source,
didn't install an rpm. ly2dvi seems to work fine, when Itry to run
xdvi I get errors like:

--------------------------------

Looking around, there are a bunch of feta files installed under
/usr/local/share/lilypond, so it's somehow a question of making xdvi
(mktexmf, gsftopk, etc) see these files. There doesn't seem to be a
psfonts.map with lilypond, should there have been?

Any ideas or help would be most appreciated.

Thanks,

rif
