The radial profile script has all the components necessary to also generate a
2D polar plot. It is essentially a re-gridding of the pixels of the input in a
new image such that the the horizontal axis shows the azimuthal angle and the
vertical axis shows the radius. For example, see the attached image (shown in
the comment above).
