Thanks for raising this point Phil ;-).

Looking at the builds (for example on the
[https://buildd.debian.org/status/package.php?p=gnuastro&suite=experimental
experimental branch] from three days ago, I see that Gnuastro has successfully
been built on all the ones that were attempted.

What type of development burden do you mean?

Over the years (especially in the early days of Gnuastro), I have found some
interesting bugs within Gnuastro that only became visible on the 32-bit
systems thanks to these Debian builds. And in fact being tested automatically
on so many architectures has been one of the main motivators for packaging in
Debian ;-).
