By chance I have seen gnugo appeared in the website

gnugo supposed to be a free software?

At the first glance they are in GPL-violation as there is no source
code (visible) nor even proper copyright & license information.

However, asking money is not itself a violation. They can even sell
non-modified GNU Go (i.e. get a tarball from ftp.gnu.org and start
selling it---that's legal.) Everything depends on the way their
interface works with GNU Go and the apparent lack of license
information.

They seem to have a Mac GUI. Does anyone recognize it?

I just downloaded the package. It includes the GPL COPYING file and the source code for both GNU Go 2.6 and the Mac interface. There's also a README about the code which states:

"You should have received the source code with this app. If not, write me at address@hidden and tell me how you got it, because that’s not supposed to happen."

It seems clean to me.
