Wouldn't the simplest solution be just to redraw the
board after every command entered with : ?
BTW gnugo.el (based on your 2.2.5) and friends are now
in the CVS for both branches, so it will be available
with the next tarball (which will be either 3.6-pre4
or 3.6).
