fyi, i've installed this upstream (will appear in gnugo.el-2.2.10).

       XEmacs:
       (split-string "" " ") -> ("")

       Emacs
       (split-string "" " ") -> nil

do emacs and xemacs behave the same if you remove " " (single space) as
the second arg to `split-string'?
