GNUMed currently has quite complex dependencies.
apt-get install python2.2-pgsql
apt-get install libwxgtk2.4-python
does the trick for me. (note, you need to upgrade to Debian unstable).
Even then, it will not fully work. Not all features will work until
python2.2-pgsql catches up with some bleeding-edge features we are using
(to wit, PostgreSQL arrays)
You also need to have Postgres installed and running a gnumed database.
(see the user's manual)
After all that, gnumed doesn't actually *do* very much (It looks pretty
though), the point being, unless you wish to be a developer (to which
you are more than welcome), there isn't much point installing as is.
Once gnumed does something, we will make a Debian package, and run a
demonstration server at gnumed.net, so it will only be one "apt-get"
away from any Debian system.
