I am aiming at a shorthand notation with escape codes - 
for example, "\bp" for blood pressure or "\t" for temperature. The text entry 
widget catches such shorthand notations, expands them like a "autotext macro" 
and at the same time inserts the values into the appropriate tables/rows.
