Karsten Wrote: Integration would IMHO mean to let FreeB do the billing,
GnuCash do the general accounting and GnuMed interfacing with
them as needed. There'd be something like two buttons in
GnuMed: "process bill for this patient" which would talk to
FreeB and "show accounting for this patient" which would talk
to GnuCash. Also "show practice accounting" would go to a
higher level in GnuCash.
[Yudhvir -- So, if I understand this:
a. "Process bill for this patient" would pass-on whatever needs to be
collected to FreeB which does ALL billing - insurance and patient? What if
there is an error in coding or something. Would FreeB send a message to
Gnumed? It is fine to have one button to do this, but the system needs to
be designed as a two-way dialog IMHO.
b. Same with "show practice accounting" - two-way dialog. And we cannot
expect either Gnucash or FreeB to be cognizant of Gnumed. Meaning we should
not put any code into those apps - right?
c. I think I'll go look at Gnucash
