Syan, http://www.postgresql.org/docs/7.4/static/manage-ag-alternate-locs.html this link might make it a whole lot easier for you to setup just the GNUmed database on the encrypted partition. It'll save you from having to initdb a whole new cluster. If you think it's worthwhile I'd be happy to support it right in the bootstrapper !
