Great.  If I remember correctly someone made up-to-date ubuntu-compatible GNUmed debs in their own repository because the ubuntu repository was less than helpful keeping GNUmed current.  Do you remember the URL or apt line?

I'll probably be able to churn v1 out next week if I can get all of the details.  I'll try to get postgresql, pgadmin3 and a bootstrapped database in it too.  I will need instructions on how to bootstrap a database beforehand, as well as any other edits/materials I'll need.  If I can get this info now, I shouldn't need it again.

I'll probably make a nice wallpaper and stuff for v2 (but just the basics for now).

If you wouldn't mind the LiveCD being Ubuntu-based I could use Reconstructor to make it.  Just tell me what you want in it and where to send the complete example and I'll give it a try.

Personally I don't care what Flavor of linux it is. It just needs a gnumed-client package installed. A (near) future version should have postgesql and pgadmin3 as well a bootstrapped database as well.

Once you have that running We can upload it to www.gnumed.de/downloads/live-cd

As far as I know debian-live or live-helper works on Ubuntu just as well. The reason Why I stuck to debian is that my server is Debian and I am thinking of automatically creating the cd directly on the server when a new version is released.

But feel free to use what gets the job done. Just keep in mind that manual tuning will be a pain a few releases down the road.
