luckily one of our most avid testers (he never posts but
always writes directly to me) found this a couple days ago.
When I fixed the path detection on Windows the detection on
non-Windows got screwed up at one point.

Attached find a file which fixes this. Drop it into
pycommon/ overwriting the file that's there.

I will release a fixed tarball this week.
