Not Debian but keeping the thread name since what I ask may be relevant... I 
located the xml file that is being passed to FreeDiams by GNUmed 1.02.rc2 , 
quoted below.

I notice that there does not exist, in my ~/.gnumed/ directory any conf file of 
the name

        ConfigFile value="/Users/djb/.gnumed/freediams4gm.conf"

but I am not sure how such a file was to have been put there.

I also wonder where or how in GNUmed we should manage which version of 
FreeDiams is to be expected. I am wondering whether the version of XML that 
GNUmed should be generating could be identified from the value

        SELECT MAX(version) FROM Ref.data_source WHERE position('FreeDiams' in 
name_short) > 0

which I already did in the meantime update to 0.7.1 because it is non-fatal to 
me that I have a delay to again be able to use FreeDiams.
