RE: using autoconf version 2.57 To any one who changes the configure files in the core libraries (or any other GNUstep app if there are ones that need it). Please use autoconf version 2.57 to regenerate these files. Older versions, like 2.53 have known bugs that trigger problems in GNUstep libraries. Plus it's also nice to be consistent.
Why don't we just put a line AC_PREREQ(2.57) in the configure.ac files? This should stop anybody with an older version.
It is easy for me tho be clever here, as there was an article on automake in the German computer magazin c't. having read that, I also tried to use autoscan on the gui sources and this pointed to a surprising big amount of potential porting problems in our code. As I really don't have any experiance myself with autoconfig I would apreciate if someone with more background here could take over the task to step through this list. If nobody steps up for this task within the next week, I might do it myself.
Cheers Fred
