I definitely think it's not a big deal. Bigger deal is distributions not shipping latest and greatest GNUstep. At least that was the case last time I've checked out the one shipping with Debian. Another big thing is development tools being hard to figure out.
please, let's not start the super-big-thread on what's wrong with gnustep which is not related, ok? It is useless, it brings only fights and discontent.
It is not certainly because of certain basic dependencies which are "semi-hard" that debian or any other distribution doesn't ship complete and good packages.

Stop bashing gratuitously GNUstep on th emailing list, it is pointless.
