If you go to http://wwwmain.gnustep.org/, you'll see:
"Latest packages:  make 1.8.0,  base 1.8.0, (Sep 26).  gui 0.9.0,  back 0.9.0 
(Sep 30)."

But if you go to: http://gnustep.planetmirror.com/, you'll see :
Latest packages:  make 1.7.2,  base 1.7.2,  gui 0.8.8,  back 0.8.8 (Jul 23).

It's very strange, I find exactly same numbers in our logs (Total bytes 
written/readen).
I've made a search on "back 0.8.8" in our gnustep tree but found no file 
matching. Only found file matching "back 0.9.0".

Are you sure you rsync in the good gnustep.planetmirror.com document root ? 
(sorry for the stupid question :-)
