Gary,

I've finally configured my Raspberry Pi 3 and u-blox Neo 7 to use the binary protocol. The u-blox is sending just the NAV-PVT message. I can confirm this on a Python app I wrote. But I can't get gpsd 3.16 to work. When I fire up cgps I get no data.

I'm using the -n and -b options with gpsd.

Well, then. You can't blame gpsd for missing fixes if they are not even
in the incoming data stream.  My guess is you are either filling the
u-blox outbound serial queue, overtaxing its CPU, or both.

So, still on the table: fast serial port speed, u-blox binary.
