Any chance of this table making it into the info documentation (or the manual
pages) soon ? I will be willing to do the work although I'm no familiar with
the info format that much and I guess that the info format is the master
documentation format (am I right ?)

I agree about this problem and my system addesses it. You will do something
like: "dbman ls" and the system will tell you that you have imported two
versions of the ls manual page. One from /usr/man/man1 and one from
/usr/local/man/man1. And you will be able to choose which one to display...
