The thing is that fitting the plots onto the page is very much a
trial-and-error thing.  Being able to stretch and squeeze the figures would
be of great help.  Having to change the point size of text is minor in
comparison.  The old pic provided this flexibility, but James apparently
decided not to include it in gpic.  Why not add it to gpic, for those who
would use it?
