Dear Michail,

it seems reasonable to include ready groff font description files in the
distribution of your program. Valek Filippov, who extended URW fonts, made
some future versions available after ghostscript picked up his work, but
what distributions adopted them?

I had thought of including them, but as I'm using groff 1.20, the
files would not work with 1.18, to which many Debian-based distributions
are tied. My scripts won't work with 1.18 either, but a little tweaking
is probably all that is necessary.

But if you really want the "greatest" extension of URW, you may want to
include the latest pfb/pfa files Filippov produced.

Can you point to a source of these?

Another possibility is to use the TeX-Gyre fonts instead. Has anyone done the work for groff?

Denis
