Oops! Sorry about that. I really don't know how I missed it; what I
committed seems not to have been exactly as I tested it. It should be
correct now, (with a further minor enhancement).

Yep, thanks. In the English version of sed, it becomes
.../sed: -e expression #1, char 29: unterminated `s' command
I was able to deduce that anyway, from your original German rendition.
