I don't recall that GRUB 2 has ever worked well in Bochs.  Not sure if it's a
GRUB bug or a Bochs bug.  Anyway, if you can trace it down, this would be
helpful for others.

Can you determine the precise change that broke it between r1699 and HEAD?
