How are we supposed to handle version*.texi now? |

I know that automake will automatically generate the contents of
version.texi under normal circumstances, but it doesn't look like our
Makefile.am is set up that way, so how are these files supposed to be
updated? Should I be doing that by hand at release time?
If so, and if we can't actually use the standard automake
infrastructure, would anyone be opposed to me setting these up to be
automatically generated from GUILE-VERSION?
