Well, it's ok. I've obviously got something very weird with my box, but I
have a way to build now, and that's really what matters to me!

I'm already running 2.53a. If anybody's interested, I have the output from
the --debug version at
http://villagersonline.com/bison/autoreconf-debug.out

This log is of me building after I checked out from CVS ("cvs checkout
bison"), and then manually editing the bootstrap file. I cat bootstrap so
you can see my changes, then run bootstrap. The log is 88k or so.

Nah, don't worry about it. I can now build, and that's the key for me.
Later, if I have the time and inclination, I'll try to figure out what's so
weird about my system, and supply a patch - either for the README, or for
the code itself.

Don't be! Cutting-edge Free Software is hard to do. You distribute
binaries to all of us (that's how I came to know bison in the first place,
of course), so we get to use the software. It's not nearly so big a deal
if a developer has a small problem. :)

P.S. Yay! I finally remembered to reply to help-bison, instead of only to
Akim.... :)
