i have my left windows key set as meta:
(setq w32-pass-lwindow-to-system nil)
(setq w32-lwindow-modifier 'meta)
(setq w32-alt-is-meta nil)
this mostly works well for me; avoids having to reach for <escape>.
the only exception is <lwindow>+u, which i would like emacs to
interpret as M-u to run upcase-word. instead, this key combo causes
windows to run the very annoying "narrator" program, which jabbers at
me until i click in two dialog boxes to turn it off.
anyone know why this one key combo gets passed to the system? anyone
worked out a way to fix it?
i know how to disable the <windows> keys (microsoft knowledge base
article 216893), but that turns both <windows> keys into apparent
no-ops.
thanks, ed
