There is something wrong with the standard C run-time library. Try to
re-install your system and then attain the following program to work
(it uses a subset of the standard headers that are used in glpk):

/* t03.c */

#include <assert.h>
#include <ctype.h>
#include <errno.h>
#include <float.h>
#include <limits.h>
#include <math.h>
#include <setjmp.h>
#include <signal.h>
#include <stdarg.h>
#include <stddef.h>
#include <stdio.h>
#include <stdlib.h>
#include <string.h>
#include <time.h>

int main(void)
{     printf("User program entry successful.\n");
      return 0;

/* eof */
