auto filling in of "originator" field?

Hello,

I'm using the latest version of gnats 3.999.beta1 debian  and I was wondering
if there was a way to have the "originator" field automatically filled in by 
the 
login name?

I was hoping there was a clean way to do this in the definition of the field
in the dbconfig file?   I've tried a few things, but it doesn't seem to be a 
supported
feature?

Any one done this?
