There is only a single database named default...the
/usr/local/etc/gnats/databases file contains the line:
default:Bug database:/usr/local/com/gnatsdb
and the output of dbls, as expected, is:
dbls
301 List follows.
default

yes gnatsdb is the default database, but attempting a 'chdb' before
logging in has no effect

Here, the permissions should become "edit".

by default, I am referring to the gnatsd.access file in
/usr/local/gnats/defaults/
