Or in a perl buffer C-h m will get you to the info too. Cperl turns off abbrevs by default but has a setting that turns it on. cperl-electric-keywords This does too cperl-hairy Both are customizable. The standard way to turn on abbrev mode at init by having these in .emacs: (setq default-abrev-mode t) (read-abbrev-file) Doesn't work in cperl... on purpose ... I think.
