See the "Simple Menu Items" and "Extended Menu Items" nodes of the Emacs Lisp manual. I would also recommend using make-sparse-keymap and define-key (iterating over the menu-items) to build the menu keymap instead of building it with list functions. -- Kevin Rodgers
