Yes, that's what David wanted to say. Gmane makes mailinglists
accessible via nntp. For example, the emacs-devel list is
gmane.emacs.devel. But on news.gmane.org there aren't the classical
usenet hierarchies like alt.*, comp.*, de.* and such. To read those,
you need another server.
