I'm wondering if the latest gnucap (or earlier ones like 0.35) supports
BSIM models we use at work in HSpice. The gnucap home page talks of
supporting MOSFET level 1 to 8, and 49, models, which sound like early
ones to me, although I'm not claiming to be any kind of a Spice expert.
The latest gnucap announcement of development version 2008-08-10
indicates support for the BSIM462 model, which I guess is BSIM level
4.6.2, from the nomenclature on the BSIM Homepage
(http://www-device.eecs.berkeley.edu/~bsim3/bsim4.html). The models I
want to use have headers like:
* PROCESS : some process
* MODEL : BSIM4/BSIM3 ( V2.0/V3.2.4 )
* VERSION : V1.4
* DATE : August 20th, 2004
* HSPICE VERSION : H2003.09
or
* PROCESS : process name
* MODEL : BSIM4/BSIM3 ( V4.5/V3.2.4 )
* VERSION : V1.5
* DATE : July. 30th, 2006
* HSPICE VERSION : HSPICE Y-2006.03
with a typical model content of:
.MODEL nch.1 NMOS ( LMIN = '1.0000E-05-dxln'
LMAX = 2.001E-05
+WMIN = '1.0000E-05-dxwn' WMAX =
9.001E-04 LEVEL = 54
+VERSION = 4.5 BINUNIT = 2 PARAMCHK = 1
+MOBMOD = 0 CAPMOD = 2 IGCMOD = 1
. . .
. . .
Should these work in gnucap? Thanks.
